Handmade Rose Silver Ring - The Rose of Tepeyac
• Material: .925 Sterling Silver
Inspired by the legend of Our Lady of Guadalupe. According to Mexican Catholic tradition, in 1531, the Virgin Mary appeared to an indigenous man named Juan Diego on the hill of Tepeyac, and instructed him to build a church in her honor. When Juan Diego reported this to the bishop, he was asked for a sign. Juan Diego gethered Castilian Roses, which were not native to Mexico and bloomed out of season. When Juan Diego opened his cloak to show the roses to the bishop, an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe was miraculously imprinted on the fabric. This event led to the adoption of the rose in Mexico as a symbol of the Virgin Mary and her miracles, integrating the flower into Mexican spiritual and cultural traditions.
