The cempasúchil, or marigold, holds a special place in Mexican culture, particularly during Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). This flower, is believed to guide the spirits of deceased loved ones back to the world of the living.
During Día de los Muertos, families create altars (ofrendas) adorned with cempasúchil flowers to honor their ancestors. The bright petals and strong fragrance are thought to help lead the souls back home.
