About TIKALKUN
I am Tikal'Kun, a Mayan jeweler and designer who grew up in a lovely native community on the Yucatán Peninsula. This dream of mine started under the name 'Zerounno,' a homage to the Mayan invention of the zero over 1800 years ago. However, I soon realized that this name didn't fully capture the essence of our craft. Seeking a deeper connection to my roots and the authentic spirit of my work, I chose to embrace my own name. That's why we are now proudly known as TIKALKUN, and it took shape with a little help from my brother and my son. Tired of the racial inequalities and limited opportunities in Mexico, we decided to channel our frustrations into creativity. TIKALKUN was born not just as a brand, but as a statement against these inequalities, showcasing the beauty and depth of our indigenous features and heritage.
